The Best Bakery Case returns to haunt the Supreme Court.
The reputation of the highest court in the land goes up in smoke as Zahira Sheikh sticks to her original stand in the Vadodara fast track court.
Zahira Sheikh says she was coerced by Teesta Sitalwad into implicating innocent people by giving false statements. This means Teesta deliberately misled the Supreme Court and the learned judges. Teesta is a great schemer. She would even parade the likes of Mahesh Bhatt and Shabana Aazmi to score public relations points.What do Justice Doraiswamy Raju and Arijit Passayat have to say about Zahira's latest statement? What are they going to do now? Will they resign for delivering a rank bad judgement which revolted against every cannon of jurisprudence and yet was praised by the likes of a jaded faded Jethmalani and Shantibhushan and was hailed as the victory of justice by a smart ass well connected lawyer like Harish Salve? What about the then Chief Justice Khare who wanted the Supreme Court to act as the prosecutor in the Best Bakery Case? All these decisions and pronouncements of the so called learned judges and eminent jurists were prompted by the manipulated statements of one person, Zahira Sheikh. They were aided and abetted by the likes of Teesta, a confirmed publicist and a devious and dubious social activist.Look at what they have done? They have turned the Supreme Court into a laughing stock by allowing themselves to be manipulated by a lying, scheming, agenda driven third class social activist.However, the issue is how could the highest court in the land allow itself to be taken for a ride by a wily social activist? Justice Khare, Justice Raju, & Justice Passayat were certainly influenced by the media hype about Gujarat and the propaganda blitzkrieg by media savvy activists in delivering topsy-turvy judgements that crossed the boundaries of sanity. It raises serious questions and doubts about the accountability and competence of the judges of the Supreme Court of India. Teesta Sitalwad and Mahesh Bhatt are minor characters in this drama. Justice Khare, Raju, and Passayat should be questioned for what they have done.
What is going on here? The Best Bakery accused seem to have been condemned forever. They are not being considered innocent till proven otherwise. They have been proven innocent once by a fast track trial court and the Gujarat High Court. Even then they are behind bars. They have been re-arrested. The bastardized Indian media does not even talk about their plight. There is none to publish the heart rending tales of their mothers, wives, and relatives. A condemned Hizb militant hogs more media space with appeal for mercy pouring from all corners. Why? Because the men on trial are 'Hindus'? Then they are certainly second rate citizens. They have always been, in their own land. Their lives have very little value. They are still being run down and ridiculed by the church, the leftists, the secularists, the Islamists, and the rest of the foreign educated elite.What is happening in the the Best Bakery Case retrial? It is a 'Kangaroo Court' trial, where witnesses are being tutored and shown the accused and then being asked to identify them in front of the court and the judge finds it OK. The fact that the accused are well recognized by their names and faces since they have already undergone a well publicized trial earlier does not matter to the court and the prosecutors. It is a mockery of the 'Identification' process. How can something like this be allowed under the laws of the land of a civilized society? How can the court negate the obvious reality and the hard as a rock fact that the accused have already been identified by the media, the Gujarat fast track court, and rest of the country by their names and faces? Asking some tutored witnesses to rename and re-identify them is a ridiculous thing to do. What kind of monkey business is going on here? How can such a contaminated evidence be accepted as a worthwhile testimony? The retrial judge is obviously working hard at building up an image that may help him later in his career. It seems as if Judge Thipsay is itching to deliver 'death sentences' to have his name written in the good books of the secularists, the leftists, and the Congressees, the ruling dispensation of today.
And where are those police officers who claim to be upright and just? Do they not know the reality behind the arrests made during riots? Do they not know that these arrests are made to do 'Khanapurti' and often the bystanders are caught and put behind bars under false and trumped up cases to show the media that the police has been active? The Indian police has been following this tradition since the days of the British rule. Every public prosecutor knows this truth. They know how false evidences and witnesses are manufactured by the police and the prosecution. The Best Bakery case witnesses are 'professional' witnesses on the pay rolls of the police. Using them as real witnesses is the most heinous thing to do.
The Best Bakery Trial must be stopped henceforth and all those innocent people must be released immediately. The jurists who have any respect for law should abjure partisan politics and come forward to demand the dismissal of this case in unequivocal terms.
