Why is the Congress spending
so much time, and effort in carrying on a massive witch hunt to corner
Modi?
As has been reported
by the Times of India gleefully, this will help it win back the Muslim
votes that stopped coming to it after the Babari structure demolition.
The Congress knows that Narendra Modi is the most hated figure among
Indian Muslims. They want his head.
That is the only way
to satisfy the Mualims. They supported Mulayam Singh because he
was ready to kill Hindus to save a disused and abandoned mosque
constructed in the name of an invader. If the Congress gets them the
head of Modi, it will be back in favour with the community. They have
been supporting it out of majboori
to ward off the BJP’s rule at the Centre. They will do it willingly
after Modi is brought down.
Do you hear the tone and tenor of the Congress leaders while referring to Modi? It is full of hatred, derision, and contempt. That is important. You must show open contempt for all those who figure in the Muslim book of hate -- Modi, Tasleema, Narsimha Rao, Sanjay Gandhi, Advani, Bal Thakare, George Bush. and of course, the Sangh Parivaar - to earn the friendship of the community.
Why do Muslims hate Modi so much? Is it because of the Gujarat riots? No. Riots have always been happening in India. They hate Modi because he is a Hindutva icon. He is the Shivaji of today. He symbolises the rule of Hindus. Muslims won’t mind being ruled by the Communists. They hate being ruled by lowly Hindus who once were ruled by them. That is why the Muslim intelligentsia loves the term ‘secular’. In fact, Hindu rule actually means secular rule. Yet, the term secular is acceptable to enlightened Muslims, Hindu is not. And trust me, exceptions not withstanding, even the most educated among Muslims think this way.
So, it is a simple arithmetical calculation for the Congress party to stay in power. It needs the Muslim votes and is willing to go to any length to get those votes. It is ready to compromise and destroy the independence of every democratic institution in our country to stay in power. It has bought over the media, and has planted its stooges and hatchet men in the Election Commission. It has not even spared the Supreme Court. It has corrupted and compromised it. Most of the Supreme Court judges have been actively helping its dastardly cause. One of them, Arijit Pasayat, the ‘chappalkhor’ judge, has retired. It was he who continued to do hatchet jobs for this regime till his retirement.
However, people are more frustrated with the BJP’s central leadership. It seems to have no strategy to fight the multi-pronged attack of the Congress. The senior BJP leaders have been responding to these serious challenges with their empty rhetoric. ‘Congress is using CBI. It is Congress Bureau of Intimidation’. ‘Law will take its own course’. ‘We have faith in the Supreme Court’.
What is going on here? Why do they have so much faith in the rank corrupt judicial system of the country? The Supreme Court judges are not an incarnation of Lord Vishnu that you have to place so much faith in them. You know what they are. Go ahead, expose them. Let the world know how they were appointed and who their real masters are. That is your job as a political-social activist -- to expose the fault lines of the corrupt system. Let people know why the Supreme Court is so soft towards the convicts of the Bombay Bomb blasts and other terrorist acts, and so tough while dealing with an alleged fake encounter case of a known criminal.
The Supreme Court was
all set to order a similar witch-hunt in the Ishrat Jahan Encounter
case as well but held back after Headley’s revelation that she was a
LeT suicide bomber. There are more than fourteen top-level IPS
officers of Gujarat in jail, and many under investigation for the
Sohrabuddin Encounter case. It seems as if the entire police force of
Gujarat will be put behind bars in the case, including the retired
officers. Most of them have been in jail for years now.
They dare to do this
because none is standing up to them, not even Narendra Modi who lives
under the ever-hanging sword of President’s Rule. He has serious
limitations, but what are Advani, Sushma Swaraaj, and Jaitly doing
apart from issuing rhetorical responses? Cannot they formulate a
counter-strategy? Cannot they line up senior jurists to send a warning
to the Supreme Court judges that they will not be allowed to play with
the federal principles and they dare not target Gujarat and its Chief
Minister? What stops them from rebuking the Supreme Court for its
obvious attempts to interfere in the governance of a state and subvert
the due process of justice to suit the political objectives of the
ruling dispensation? And if there is some union of IPS officers, they
need to speak up now for their jailed colleagues.
What is Ram Jethmalani doing in Ahmedabad, moving applications for Amit Shah’s bail? He should be sitting in Delhi and demanding a constitutional review of all the Supreme Court judgements in Gujarat-related cases. He should be organising an army of imminent jurists to wage a battle against the compromised judges in the Supreme Court, to send a definite signal to the Chief Justice of India to tell his pro-Congress judges to back off and stop playing footsie with Sonia and her armada of court fixers. Otherwise, even they will be hauled up and exposed and it will become too ugly a fight for all. When someone like Somnath Chatterji could do it, Jethmalani should be able to do it better.
Nothing can stop the
Congress party and government from indulging in dirty and wily games
like these unless the BJP leadership shows the resolve to take the
fight to the bitterest possible end. It must abandon the
rhetoric, and gird up its loins for such a fight. Let it get ugly. If
this is what the Congress Government and the Supreme Court want, let
them have it. It is not the time to behave like pusillanimous and
forgiving Hindus. You must think strategically. You are fighting a war
against a really devious, dangerous, and ruthless enemy. You have to be
more ruthless, and devious to beat the monster of Congress.
The BJP
leadership must also understand that the fall of Narendra Modi will
also signal the process of doom for their party and ideology. And they
must learn to stand by their people in times of crisis instead of
letting them be devoured by bloodthirsty Congress wolves.
