Shameless government tries to hide its failures and incompetence behind the unnecessary death of poor soldiers at the parliament.

Foolish minions of Advani and Vajpayee are trying to project the gross security foul up as an act of bravery.
POTO or no POTO this government cannot defend the country, even from low level, small time terrorists. The way officials and ministers are brazenly expressing their helplessness in dealing with Fidayeen attacks, you suspect if they know their job at all. Advani compares such attacks with the killings of Indira and Rajeev. Has he lost his mind? How can he compare the attack on the parliament with those unfortunate incidents?

Five guys get through the main entrance of presumably well protected Parliament building, killing seven security personnel, injuring another seventeen, and Mahajan terms it as a mark of great security preparedness. What do we make of it? The NDA government takes all the citizens of this country as unthinking 'chutias' or what?

We saw these so called Fidayeens on TV. They were not well trained fighters. They followed the same oft repeated modus operendi. They were dressed in army uniform and driving an official looking vehicle with red lights. An alert security force would not have allowed them to go an inch beyond the main gate. They would have all been dead before getting out of their car.

However, they not only got inside the parliament complex, they had a free run for 15 minutes, shooting at will and looking for ways to get inside the parliament. Had they been better trained fighters, they would have managed that also. We should thank God that they were not Laden trained professional Jihadis.

Mahajan considers fifteen minutes as short time to apprehend or kill the terrorists. He should know that a few minutes were more than enough to blow up the whole of parliament building. These guys could have rammed the vehicle loaded with RDX into the Parliament building and then Mahajan would be counting his minutes and hours along with the dead bodies of his colleagues.

This 'Bhashanbaaz' is part of the coterie that surrounds the sleepy PM. How can you expect this government to safeguard the interests of this country with this incompetent lot at the helm?  This fellow I.D Swami, the minister of state for home, is another dud head who is ever present on all TV channels, talking about how Fidayeen attacks are too difficult to be prevented.

He is talking through his hat. These kind of Fidayeen attacks are the easiest to be prevented. You don't even need a very elaborate security plan to do so. What you need is extremely alert security personnel who look at each day as a new day and instead of posting smart Salaams to VVIPs at the gates, keep looking for the potential threats. Their duty hours can be shortened to 4 or 6 hours. They should be in a state of constant preparedness, expecting the worst each time they see a car approaching the gate. They will not have to run for cover if they are prepared for any eventuality unlike what they did when the goons stormed into the main gate of the parliament on 13.12.01.

What is the job of the security posse at the parliament's main entrance? Do they allow a vehicle to get inside the gate before checking the credentials of its occupants? The way Mahajan defined the process, it seems that these guys simply have to see the stickers on the cars passing through the gate and let them in if they have appropriate passes. Mahajan says there are so many cars and if one of them has armed terrorists in it nothing can be done. The ignorant fool is now giving his expert opinion on security issues as well. I hope he does not replace the great avatar of Sardar Patel in the home ministry in future. It will be a double disaster.

All this talk of multiple security rings is hog wash. There are no security rings anywhere. In the name of security we simply post the 303 carrying mustachioed policemen near the gates of our prestigious establishments and hope that they will somehow recognize and neutralize well armed terrorists and prevent major disasters. None briefs or trains them properly. Those who are supposed to supervise the security are equally lazy. They have total faith in God. 'If God wills a terrorist attack none can prevent it' this seems to be the security Mantra of this government. They are inspired by the life and philosophy of Vajpayee, who too believes in leaving the people of this country in God's hand while he nurtures his girth by the unlimited intake of Vodka received from Putin during his recent visit to Russia.

India looks like a country being run in an auto-pilot mode.

Why the fuck do we have a government in Delhi when everything is left to God? Why should we pay taxes to fund the lifestyles of a bunch of idiots who can neither lead the country nor run a government? Moreover, they make all of us look like idiots which we are not.

Now Advani is thinking of arming the watch and ward staff of the parliament. How can the home minister of a country be so ridiculous? If we go by his analysis of the problem, every Indian will have to be armed to fight terrorism. The guy makes these childish statements in front of the media. There was a time he was considered one of the ideologues of the BJP. He seems clue less about the real problems and their probable solutions as far as internal security of the country is concerned. This is scary.

This also reinforces the apprehension of people about the POTO bill. The POTO bill will be as ineffective as all other measures this government has taken on internal security front because it is intrinsically an incompetent government led by a foolhardy bunch of small time politicians who always invent some excuse or other for their unpardonable bungling. We should also know that the POTO will be more useful to the incompetent and lazy home ministry officials and the police, who will use it to provide cover to their asses than to us.

Vajpayee is talking about 'Aar Paar Ki Ladai', the final battle. This has become his trade mark. Speak loudly, without conviction, and go off to sleep the next moment. Indira Gandhi would also coin such slogans as her policy statements. Vajpayee does it as mere rhetoric. None takes his statements seriously, including himself. What does he mean by the final battle? Even his ministers don't know exactly what he really meant. Does it mean Indian forces will enter POK? Does it mean we shall bombard Pakistan for aiding and abetting terrorism on our soil? The Home Minister followed the PM and pronounced that the terrorists will be liquidated. Why could he not liquidate them earlier? Was he waiting for them to strike at the parliament before doing so? Or was he waiting for the POTO to become part of the statute before acting decisively? The POTO is already in existence. How come it could not prevent the attack on the parliament?

The rot that has set in our security set up is inspired by the political establishment. Its insensitivity has permeated into every organ of the Indian state and one does not know as to how can this be corrected. A bad and ineffective leader will compound this problem further. Unfortunately, the NDA government is full of such non-leaders.
