The suave orator has never led an ideological movement. He has always aided the continuation of status quo. As an opposition leader he practised the art of mutual back scratching with perfection. He has always been a man of establishment because it ensures his long term upkeep and survival as an ageing politician.

He would not like to upset the apple cart. That is why he would like the lose talker Jethmalani to keep his mouth shut. Who thrives on silence? The corrupt and self serving. Democracy thrives on truth and truth alone. It is a well informed electorate that makes democracy meaningful and worthy of its high pedestal as a political philosophy.

Vajpayee would not want the nexus among politicians, beurocrats and judiciary to get destroyed. Jethmalani's utterances and behaviour were leading to that. His continuance in office may have created an undesirable chaos. As he was not ready to be co-opted by the establishment, he had to be chucked out. The old horse does not believe in meek submission as he has enough contacts and resources to survive his old age. So he spoke to his heart's content. Chief Justice Anand and AG Sorabji may not like what the Bigmouthmalani has revealed, but they all know what they are and they also know that Jethmalani too knows what they are. By merely occupying the position of the Chief Justice of India or the AG, one does not become Sant Gyaneshwara.

The political, judicial and beurocratic establishment is crying foul. How can you speak against the CJ?  Why cannot one speak against him? Don't we know that Indian judicial appointments are all political? CJ Anand is also a political appointee. He can certainly be questioned. Everyone in the establishment can be questioned without fearing prosecution because everyone of them is a paid employee of the people. If I doubt their integrity, I will question them in the loudest possible voice. They will have to prove me wrong by their positive conduct and honest explanations. Vajpayee has no right to seek explanations from and conduct enquiries against Citizen Jethmalani. Vajpayee has to answer as to why is he trying to hide the information, passed on to us by Jethmalani, in the name of the oath of secrecy.

Is Vajpayee the head of a secret club? He heads a govt. in the name of the people and hides facts from them. What kind of morality is this?

Bravo Jethmalani. Keep going. Speak more and more. You have nothing to loose. Let the society gain. You are in Vanprastha stage of your life. Nothing should matter to you but the larger interests of society.
