NDTV's Exit Poll
A fraud played with Indian democracyIt was a blatant and last ditch attempt at hijacking the elections away from NDA and subverting the truth.
Never before in the history of pollcasting such a dirty game has been played. Pranoy Rai has destroyed the reputation of TV journalism forever.
NDTV exit poll was a total fraud and after the final verdict on the 13th May, 2004, A.C.Neilson will have to pay a heavy price for this. It should be asked to shut shop and leave India for its unethical and illegal deeds and gross attempts at striking at the very roots of democracy by contaminating the election process. Taleem Foundation of Zee will have to follow the same route.
The entire NDTV exit poll was rigged to suit the objectives of the Congress. As far as Taleem poll for Zee was concerned, it was downright laughable. One hopes media baron Subhash Chandra chucks those guy out after the 13th May. These nincompoops are no good. And if Zee News has its own agenda to run the NDA down, Subhash Chandra and Jawahar Goel should know that there are many a skeleton in their cupboards and they won't be able to bear the heat if attacked relentlessly. Prabhash Joshi, with his leprous face, won't come to their aid then. In fact NDA must go after corrupt and corrupting politicians with vengeance after the poll. They should be forced to shut shop. Even otherwise, quite a few of Indian industrialist should be cooling their heels in Tihar jail for their dark deeds.
Now here is more about the NDTV exit poll. Pollcasting of NDTV was a well planned affair right from the beginning. It started with having exclusive programs to establish the authenticity of opinion and exit polls. The viewers were given an 'opinion and exit poll' appreciation course. And then the thick plot was laid out. The NDA was supposed to be shown as loosing steam over a period of time. It was to be done very carefully, in installments.
Earlier, NDTV reporters had done their best to run NDA down and put Sonia and her children on a high pedestal. Every interview of Sonia Parivar was designed carefully, to highlight certain points. Pranoy Rai and Rajdeep Sardesai and Shekhar Gupta would work with a predetermined script of an interview. They would decide as to how important pro-Congress arguments had to be put out during these interviews. A stupid Sonia could not even follow those scripts. However, Rajdeep and Shekhar and other reporters would help her say things that needed to be said. This is the low these known journalists had stooped to. They were doing the public relations job for Sonia and the Congress all along. Were they being paid for it? We know that apart from hard news, everything else that gets tomtommed as news and views is paid public relations stuff. Newspapers like the Times of India also have rate cards for this. TV and print, both, suffer from this malady. The people of this country should know about it.
Contrast the interviews of NDA leaders conducted by these fellows. Rajdeep and Shekhar would almost pounce on the interviewees, all set to pulverize and demolish them. Look at the kind of questions Rajdeep asked Vajpayee. Every question was designed to provide fodder to the Congress campaign. It seemed as if the questionnaire was prepared at the Congress HQs. The questions about retirement and his successors were downright rude and in bad taste but they were brazenly and repeatedly asked. Rajdeep Sardesai should not have been allowed to do it. Had he asked a question like this to Lalu, he would have been bashed up by Sadhu Yaadav. Why didn't Shekhar Gupta ask questions from Sonia about her friendship with Quatrochhi and how has she been able to control her sexual urge after Rajiv Gandhi's demise and what size of Dildos she has in her stock? He should have asked questions about her family back home in Italy and with what mafia she shares her lineage? How many torrid sexual escapades and abortions she had had before hooking Rajiv? Why did he not ask her as to why does she want to become the Prime Minister of India, being an Italian by birth? He should have asked her about her relationship with the Church? Rajdeep should have asked a few questions from Priyanka and Rahul about their educational background and how much do they know about India and its economy and if they knew who wrote 'Vande Mataram'. 'Ofcourse our great grandfather', would have been the reply in all probability. He should have also asked them if uncle Quatrochhi brought Rahul and Priyanka Swiss chocolates or not whenever he visited their household. Rahul should also be asked if he has been in touch with Quatrochhi and how did he manage to get his London job with his poor grades and academic qualification.
However, these bastardized journalists had the guts and gumption to ask the question from the Prime Minister of this country, who is seeking a fourth term from the electorate, as to when was he retiring. And Vajpayee, the poor brahmin who does not hit below the belt, could not even rebuke this shame of a journalist. Why the BJP believes in being polite to hard headed bastards and bitches who strut around posing as TV journalists of substance?
The BJP guys should learn a few things from the supporters of Chandrashekhar to deal with this kind of mischief mongering. If you recall how Jethmalani was bashed up by ex PM's cohorts when he had gone to protest in front of his house. He was beaten up and he had to return home in his long striped underwear. The guy remained out of lime light for next seven years or so till Vajpayee rehabilitated him by making him a minister. In the mean time he was fighting criminal cases of mafia dons, murderers, and assassins.
Now, let us return to NDTV reportage. Anything that showed that the NDA was doing fine, was edited out. Once in a while we also got to see something that indicated that there was pro-NDA wave in elections. However, every attempt was made to convince the interviewees that they were wrong in supporting Atal. Some of the programs had to change their tack midway because they were generating visual material that suited the NDA. Even the violence during Bihar polling was suppressed blatantly. One can be certain that the reporter who said that rigging is happening right in front of eyes in Sewan, will soon be shown the door by Pranoy Rai.
The footage of Priyanka and Rahul being showered with flowers were shown repeatedly. The Congress workers were shown singing praises of Sonia parivar. Was it because it was going to increase the TRPs of their channels? No way. None cared for them. As far as crowds were concerned, one has seen bigger crowds in Students Union elections of various universities of UP. Even Sonia's road shows were projected as huge affairs. That was all bunkum. It was a crowd of party workers. Common people did not bother about her. Rahul's road show in Varanasi was a flop show. Those who know Varanasi know it very well that even on an ordinary day Godaulia crossing is jam-packed. You bring in a motorcade of 50 vehicles in that confusion, and you have the so called huge crowds.
A dangerous development
Combine money with media power and you have a very potent and dangerous potion in your hand. Media barons can use and abuse this power at will. They will soon be manipulating public opinion and seeking political power in this country following the Burlusconi's Italian example. One can imagine how the likes of corrupt Amabanis, Arun Puries, and Subhash Chandras will be ruling the roost. It will be horrible. The games that were played by the TV News Channels in these elections show that they are prone to misusing their reach and power to subvert the truth. They have become political entities and they too have an agenda. This agenda has nothing to do with the exploration of the truth. It is a political agenda.
In case of NDTV, it is the agenda of the Church. What is this devious agenda of the Church? Obviously, to instal a baptized and christianized Sonia Parivar into the seat of power in Delhi. And who wishes to play the lord Jesus Christ in this game plan? Obviously the Christ-look-alike, suave and sophisticated, Mr. Pranoy Rai. But why cannot a Christian become the Prime Minister of India? Yes, anyone can become the Prime Minister of India irrespective of his/her faith. The constitution permits it. However, there are problems if the Church and the Pope are actively involved in these attempts and Indians, of all faiths, cannot tolerate this.
Who funds NDTV? They have now gone for public funding too. However, it will be interesting to know as to who are the people behind NDTV and what is the background of each and every NDTV reporter and what was the criterion of their selection. The whole nation anyway knows where the sympathies of NDTV and Indian Express lie. However, to presume that Pranoy Rai is returning favors to the Congress party for having given him the opportunity to milk Doordarshan for years, will be too simplistic an idea. There is something more sinister and dark in all this.
Let us revert to the Exit Poll issue now. It was all a hush hush affair. Generally, exit polls come out immediately after the polling. The NDTV scheduled it at 9.30 pm, four and half hours after the polling. They knew that all other exit poll results would be out by then. This was done strategically. So what? Was it not a good marketing ploy to enhance their prime time ratings? It was not all that simple. It was actually a good ploy to calibrate their grand strategy to run down the NDA. Did you ever think even for a moment as to why the NDTV exit poll program did not have a panel of the representatives of various political parties? Last time they had them. It was very simple.
They did not want their figures to be probed on TV. They played yet another trick. They would hastily club all the results and arrive at a figure. They would analyze the results themselves, and form their own conclusions. There was none to contradict them. It was necessary to do it after the second phase. This was their only opportunity to deliver a decisive blow. And they did it. The strangest was Maharashtra result. It changed dramatically in the second phase. The UP result was equally bizarre. Everyone was going to have an equal number of seats and the BSP is going to emerge as the winner. What more, they started talking about a range of seats. What was the difference between the high and low figure of this range? Almost 25 to thirty seats and it was presumed and prompted that the lower range will suit the NDA better and higher range is for the Congress and its allies. It was done deliberately. The NDA that was still leading in these polls was projected as the loosing side. The fact was, the NDA had come out as per these polls with minor damages. They were supposed to have had major setbacks in these phases. The worst was over for them. However, the stupid BJP leaders like Singhal failed to put forth this point of view and suddenly the NDA started looking like a loosing side.
Khullamkhulla has an honest advice to offer to
S. Gurumurthy. He should stop investigating into the background of Sonia and start probing into the games played by some of our industrialists and media barons. One of them is his old friend too.
