KHULLAMKHULLA ON MODI'S GRAND VICTORY IN GUJARAT ELECTIONS
What is wrong if Hindus unite to vote their leaders back to power?
It is a welcome development in fact.
Why is the political polarization of Hindus bad? And why are the caste divisions among them good? Why should Hindus not be united when all other communities are united against them, calling names, telling blatant lies, churning out unsubstantiated data as facts, and turning Hindu leaders into hate figures and easy and desirable targets of terrorists?
Alaque Padamsi, Teesta Setalvad, Javed Anand, Javed Akhtar, the Islamists, the secularists, the communists, the church, Sardesais, Vinod Duas, Pranoy Rais, and the Italian woman - the whole bunch of blabbers are not going to stop fulminating over the aftermath of Godhara. They are a bloodthirsty lot by nature. They talk of Gandhi, peace, and revenge in the same breath. There is a suave looking guy called Bandookwala who preaches ‘forget and forgive’ philosophy in one moment, and in the next declares that the post-Godhara carnage cannot be forgotten. Look into the eyes of these people and you know what they are - pompous, arrogant, intolerant, opinionated, crafty, and conniving schemers and liars whose sole agenda is to run down Hindus in general, and Gujaratis in particular.
You cannot forget what happened after the karsevaks were burnt alive at Godhara station, and you expect Hindus to forget the heinous deeds of barbarians like Ghori, Ghajani, Khilji, Babar, Akbar, Jehangeer, and Aurangzeb? You want Hindus to forget about how their temples were destroyed in their holiest of holy places and grand mosques and mausoleums were constructed on those ruins as symbols of the perpetual humiliation of their community? Those mosques still stand there, mocking every Hindu who passes by them. Can Hindus forget Padmini’s johar, humiliation of Pritihviraj Chauhan and Sanyogita on the streets of Delhi, killings of millions of Hindus by Muslim marauders, and brutal torture of Guru Arjun Dev by Jehangir and his subsequent martyrdom? Can they?
I recently watched a Pakistani film ‘Khuda Ke Namm Par’ in an Indian film festival. Its Pakistani protagonist proudly tells his American girl friend about how Muslims ruled India for seven hundred years. Probably, this is the reason most of these elitist Muslims continue to spew venom and epithets at leaders like Modi. For them he is a lowly Hindu after all who deserves to be treated like dirt. The same can also be said about the intensity of Sonia’s verbal vitriolic, ‘Gujarat ki sarkaar chalane wale jhoothe, beimaan, aur maut ke saudagar hain’, the kind of language and tone that must have been used by Lord Cornwallis to berate the freedom fighters in 1957, ‘blaudy ghaas phoos khanewala Hindoos, kill them and teach the bastards a lesson for touching white Christian women.’
Who are the heroes of our nation? Akbar or Maharana Pratap? Aurangzeb or Shivaji? Take a call. If Sonia and the secularist brigade think that Akbar was the hero of this nation, let them put up his statues all over India, mint coins with his image on them, and name our ballistic missiles after him and his grand father Babar. Let Bandookwala and Teesta Setalvad and Mahesh Bhatt move the Supreme Court with a PIL pleading that the Muslims are discriminated against and their ancestors are belittled. Who knows Arijit Passayat may pass an edict to install a statute of Akbar in the precincts of the Supreme Court to please these celebrities.
The problem is that none takes the pain to nail the lies of the anti-Hindu activists in TV debates. They talk loosely about thousands of Muslims who were killed in Gujarat riots in 2002. What is the fact? Total number of dead was hardly a thousand, and more than three hundred of them were Hindus who died in police firing. This was unprecedented in the history of independent India. Never has the number of dead in police firing been so large. Do you know how many died in the Jallianwala Bagh firing ordered by Reginald Dyer according to official records? 379 , just a few more than those killed in post-Godhara riots. And how many rioters died in police action in the 1984 anti-Sikh pogrom when more than 3000 Sikhs were brutally killed by the Congress goons? None. Yet the Gujarat police was blamed for inaction and for being partial to Hindus at the behest of Modi. In fact, the Hindus should have been blaming Modi for excessive use of force.
They talk of justice. Justice for whom? Hindus? No. Muslims, and Christians? Yes. Why? Who will provide justice to the Hindus who were systematically killed by Muslim goons in various riots across the country? Take the example of the Mumbai riots. Equal number of Hindus and Muslims were killed in these riots. I have not heard a single soul talking about justice for the Hindus who died. The Hindu leaders don’t talk about it either. Who will secure justice for Hindus who cannot celebrate their Navratri and Krishna Janmastami beyond the 10 PM deadline while special permissions are granted to the Christians to celebrate Christmas whole night-long? Who will secure justice for those Hindus who are systematically edged out of their cooperative housing societies, as they cannot bear the sight of goats being slaughtered en mass within its premises on Baqar Eid day?
Why is the life of a Hindu perceived to be inconsequential and expendable by all, including themselves? Is it a legacy of a thousand years of socio-political and cultural subjugation? Are Hindus still second-rate citizens in this country? The fact is they are. They too seem to suffer from a deep sense of inferiority complex. Otherwise, why would they let the Congress win those 59 seats in the Gujarat elections? They should have wiped out the Congress party for the downright insulting, pedestrian, and venomous language a third-rate, uncouth, and unladylike Italian woman used against the Chief Minister of their state. She is full of hatred for Modi as he does not allow her co-religionists to proselytize. Why do the Hindus keep mum when the Supreme Court judges pass selective orders upon mischievous pleas of celebrity secularists to implicate innocent and poor Hindus in false riot cases? Why do they fail to react when the Election Commission acts partially and passes derogatory strictures indicting the government of Gujarat? Why are Hindus so used to being humiliated and browbeaten? Is it embedded in their genealogical structure?
Surprisingly, whenever Hindus decide to bury their caste differences, and put up a united front, a whole lot of people get panicky. Modi’s victory has unnerved many as they see it as a revival of the Hindu unity plank overriding caste fissures. NDTV and CNNIBN have started raising the communal bogey. They will soon start preaching tolerance to Hindus and make monsters of Modi and Advani.
What is the fact? Only a united Hindu body politic can end the divisive variety of politics in this country. Only one thing would matter then - the real performance of the government. Elections would then be fought on one and only one plank -- development, growth and overall well-being of the citizenry – physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual. However, it will make a whole lot of inept, and myopic political leaders irrelevant in the scheme of things. Mayavatis, Mulayams, Lalus, Karunanidhis, Sonias, Rahuls, and the Marxists will fall by the wayside.
The success of Modi in Gujarat is very important from this point of view. If he has tried to polarize Hindus to gain political power and then deliver results, it is a great beginning. I hope it happens in every state of the country. Then you will not find the electorate being wooed by politicians with election eve sops like free electricity, free water, free housing, job reservations, sewing machines, and TV sets. They will have to address the real issues. They will have to deliver real results and account for all their deeds and misdeeds in every election.
The USA and the UK and other western democracies of the world have this great advantage. The people in these countries judge their leaders by their performance. Caste, clan, and color divisions play a very small role in electoral politics in these predominantly Christian nations. India can enjoy that advantage too since we have a population which is predominantly Hindu. A united Hindu polity is the only way to correct the anomalies in the system of democratic governance in India.
Modi has shown in Gujarat how it works. Had he allowed the caste factor to come to the fore, he would not have won Gujarat. He overrode the caste equations because he was perceived as the savior of the Hindus and a messiah of the state’s prosperity. Let this experiment be repeated elsewhere. Unite Hindus in the name of Ram, Krishna, and Ramsetu, against Soharabuddins and Musharrafs, win elections, and deliver tangible results through exemplary governance. Don’t fall into the trap of the high decibel propaganda of your sworn enemies, who dominate the media space, and get apologetic about bringing Hindus together. Don’t ever backtrack on the core issues of Hindutva. They should be treated as articles of unwavering faith.
All those advisors of Advani who overenthusiastically tried to transform his image of a hard-core Hindutva leader into a moderate political philosopher, to make him acceptable as a prime ministerial material, are dumb heads. Do they really think that Vajpayee came to power because of his soft, poetic, and cowardly sensibilities? Then why was he sent packing by the electorate in spite of sporting skullcaps and being felicitated by Mullas and Maulvis and taking the country on the path of economic development? It was full-throated calls of Jai Shri Ram that had brought him to power and the idiot diluted his victory plank and abandoned Ram to win the approval of the media and the secularists. What is it if not rank dimwittedness if you think that the approval of Rajdeep Sardesai, Pranoy Rai, and Javed Akhtar is important for your political survival?
However, Vajpayee could get a few votes in the name of his caste. Advani does not have that option either unless he thinks that widely scattered Sindhi votes can turn his electoral fortunes and he can become the PM with the help of the USA (The Ullhasnagar Sindhi Association). The other problem is his deep faith in the idea of realpolitic, which actually means politics without commitment and conviction and that allows you to do shameful U turns on core issues. And a leader without conviction and commitment is merely a Bhonpu, a loudspeaker. How can you expect people to vote for a Bhonpu? Could Modi win the Gujarat elections if he had merely been talking about development and Soharabuddin without doing concrete work? His words would have carried no conviction.
So, is Advani a man of conviction? Yes. He is convinced that he deserves to be the Prime Minister since he made Vajpayee one. It looks like a matter of personal aggrandizement to many. He may not be convinced about what he will do after that. He was the ‘lauh purush’ of the BJP at one point of time. As soon as he came to power, all the ‘iron’ in him melted and evaporated into thin air. He became a willy-nilly Home Minister with no sense of purpose or vision. He could not even put up an intelligence infrastructure in place to curb and combat terrorist activities. Actually, RAW, IB, and CBI were reporting to Vajpayee and Brijesh Mishra. The home ministry was kept out of this loop. This is how Vajpayee treated Advani, his one-time friend, and the person who anointed him as the PM. POTA was enacted towards the fag end of the BJP’s tenure with great fanfare. Jaylalita and Mayavati used the law to put Advani’s allies and friends behind bars and the PM and the DPM stood there as mute witnesses. The law was used effectively in Gujarat by Modi to tackle terrorists and their sympathizers. And Vajpayee blamed Modi for the defeat in the 2004 parliamentary elections. Some idiots and newcomers in the BJP publicly endorsed Vajpayee’s blame claim. One of them was this big fat bobbin called Smriti Iraani who was seen strutting on the stage during Modi’s swearing-in ceremony on 25th December, 2007.
So, what should Advani do to become the PM of this country? He should turn himself into a man of conviction and commitment. So, next time when he exhorts his audiences to shout Jai Shri Ram or Jai Ram Setu, it should reflect his unflinching faith in the idea of the unity of Hindus as an essential condition for the development, and the security of the Indian nation. He should tell the pseudo-secularists and anglicized media clearly that they are insulting Hindus by spreading calumny. He should be proud of his Hinduness and let everyone know about it. He should be seen as a man of vision and action and not merely as a media-friendly ideologue. He should work towards reviving and revitalizing the ABVP, the VHP, the Mazdoor Sangh, and all other organizations that have been working at the grass roots level. He should take personal initiative to mend the fences, and prepare for the elections in 2009.
He should get Ritabharas out to campaign for Hindu unity. He should get Uma Bharatis and Govindacharyas back in the BJP fold. There is very little time left. The immediate goal should be to fight anti-incumbency in electorally important states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chateesgarh, Orissa, and Bihar. How can that be done? That is a big question. But the bigger question is what the BJP is going to do in Uttar Pradesh with an inept, uninspiring, and useless Rajnath Singh at the party’s helm. Looking at this scenario, one feels that the BJP will need someone like Modi to create a surge of Hindu nationalism.
Those who compare Hindu nationalism with Hitler’s German nationalism, are either ignorant or they are political beneficiaries of Hindu disunity. When Hindus become politically powerful, and economically prosperous, they get generous, turn to spirituality, become harbingers of peace, and non-violence, and take to renunciation. Rama, Krishna, Yudhisthira, Harshvardhan, Buddha, Ashoka and a whole lot of examples are there to illustrate this point. The Non-Hindus* behave differently. They turn into oppressors, expansionists, proselytizers, and intolerant dictators. A study of the history of mankind will throw up countless examples – Alexander, Napoleon, Queen Victoria, the Mughals, Hitler, Bush, Mao, Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini, Pope, Unilever, Microsoft, Osama Bin Laden, Musharraf, etc., etc.
*Marxists, Secularists, Christians, Islamists, Italians, Germans, Americans, Russians, etc.
Modi must consolidate his image as a staunch Hindu nationalist. He must unite Hindus in Gujarat further to ensure that no other political formation could evolve an electoral strategy based on caste and clan equations and stop his development juggernaut. This will ultimately bring Muslims into the mainstream as well. Today, they see no political or social benefit in joining the mainstream because of caste divisions among Hindus. They enjoy being in demand as a vote block by caste-oriented political formations. Though it does not and cannot help them, as their ‘maal khaau’ leaders will treat them as a herd of sheep and cows during election time.
So, Modi must put up a brave fight whenever he sees that innocent Hindus are being victimized and harassed by secularists. He should withdraw all cases against Hindu activists, and tell the courts that these cases were false in the first place and they were created to stem the riots. Even if he has to take up cudgels against the Supreme Court, he should not back out. Not a single riot case (all false) should be allowed to be transferred out of Gujarat. Look at the way the Best Bakery accused were handed over pre-meditated indictments after a sham retrial. He should also take a tough stance on the Soharabuddin case.
If SC judges like Arijit Passayat try to make an example of Gujarat, they should be resisted and warned even if it leads to a constitutional crisis. It will expose all those judges of the Supreme Court who are doing the bidding of the ruling class. Similarly, the Election Commission and the shenanigans of Congress stooges like Naveen Chawala must be exposed. It has to be done now. Someone should use the Right to Information Act (RTI) to find out what transpires among the three election commissioners before they come out with a ‘unanimous’ decision. They must maintain minutes of all the deliberations among themselves and these should be posted on the net. Their refusal to do so will mean that they have a lot to hide.
Hindus must unite if this country has to prosper and its people have to live comfortably, in secure environs. Whatever has to be done politically, and organizationally should be done to ensure this. New programmes and strategies should be evolved to achieve this end, with a sense of commitment and confidence. If building of a Ram Temple in Ayodhya unites Hindus, it must be built. It is time that all the wings of the Sangh Parivar start working in unison, towards uniting Hindus as a political force to ensure unprecedented economic development and exemplary democratic governance.
And beware of the deliberate attempts of the media and the secularists to bring Vajpayee in the forefront as an antidote to the possibility of a surge in Hindu nationalism. They want him to feel important again and do their job by mouthing his idiotic one-liners. Surprisingly, instead of visiting a Church, Manmohan Singh, the PM, paid a visit to this paralyzed patriarch of the BJP to give him birthday wishes on Christmas day. He is back in demand by the media and all anti-Hindu forces who are shitting bricks. Modi’s success has disoriented them and they know what it would mean if the phenomenon spreads across the nation. They are asking questions like, ‘what would you prefer, Modi’s or Vajpayee’s BJP?’ And what is Vajpayee’s BJP? A lame duck BJP, a loser’s BJP.
Modi’s BJP is a winner’s BJP. Let the slogan of ‘Jeetega Gujarat’ be transformed into ‘Jeetega Hindu aur Hindusthan’, ‘Jeetega Bharat’, Bharat that lives in villages, the marginalized Bharat, the ignored Bharat, the true Bharat, the Bharat that is full of great potential but remains suppressed, oppressed, shackled, terrorized, and exploited by elitist politicians, corrupt bureaucrats, greedy money bags, devious and dubious social activists, Islamic terrorists, venomous media, and proselytizing padres.
