Films to watch at MAMI's 13th Mumbai Film Festival (MFF)
MAMI's 13th MFF begins on 13th October, 2011, in Mumbai, at Cinemax, and other venues. During the week-long festival more than 200 films are expected to be screened in its various sections. Most of the festival delegates find it difficult to decide what films to watch and what to skip and the festival catalogue gets too cumbersome and complicated for many to peruse. You cannot watch all the films in the festival anyway. Even if you watch four or five films in a day, you hit a maximum score of 28 or 35.
Here is a Khullamkhulla guide to plan your screenings. You may find it useful. We have not gone by the festival’s official menu like Competition, Above The Cut, Indian Frame, World Cinema, and Real Reel in this listing and have created our own user-friendly menu. We have also excluded the various retrospectives, Dimensions Mumbai, Celebrating Age, and the Cannes Critics Week sections from the purview of this exercise. You have some of the titles highlighted. Those are the must watch recommendations by us. You can refer to the screening schedule of the festival at the festival’s official site (http://www.mumbaifilmfest.com) to mark the dates and time of the screeenings of these films.
