Press Releases NFDC to hold Indian Script Development Workshop (ISDW) in association with Directorate of Film Festivals prior to IFFI 2007, Goa.
The National Film Development Corporation Ltd. (NFDC), in collaboration with the Directorate of Film Festivals, will conduct a script development workshop from 18th – 24th November, 2007, Goa, a week prior to IFFI 2007.
Very little time is left now. Submissions must be sent to NFDC before August 25, 2007.
The Indian Script Development Workshop (ISDW) 2007 is designed for Indian scriptwriters who have finalized their scripts for a theatrical feature film. The aim of the ISDW is to develop seven commercially viable scripts aimed for the international market.
ISDW will provide a platform for Indian scriptwriters to work out and finalize already developed screenplays through active consultation and interaction with a selected team of seven renowned professionals from the global film industry, including India.Seven well developed feature film scripts will be selected by NFDC, and during the workshop, the scriptwriters will discuss their scripts in depth with the team of advisors collectively and on a one-to-one basis. The workshop will be conducted in English language only and the English versions of the script will be discussed.These seven scripts will be analyzed in detail during the workshop and the analysis will focus on different aspects of the project such as structure, characters, plot development, dialogue etc.
After the workshop, the selected scriptwriters will be required to submit a new version of their scripts (translated in English) (based on the discussions and advice emanating from the workshop) and submit the same to NFDC. NFDC will be a co-owner of these scripts and will have first right of refusal on these scripts for production purposes.The workshop will be held in Goa from 18th – 24th November 2007.Submitting a script includes:
1. Entry form
2. Script in classic script form and in English
3. Log-line in English
4. A one-page synopsis in English
5. Scriptwriter’s CV in English
6. A letter of intent (reasons to apply for the ISDW 07, plus intentions for the future direction of the film) in English
7. A DVD of a previous work (if existing)The application must be sent by e-mail (Word document) to NFDC at isdw@nfdcindia.com
NFDC will provide travel and accommodation to the selected scriptwriters for the ISDW 07.
NB: It is mandatory for each scriptwriter to present a new version of his script to NDFC within 6 months after the workshop. In case a scriptwriter does not present his script, he will be asked to reimburse the workshop fees for his participation.
