Why are the students and officials of IIMs and IITs opposing the lowering of fees?

It sounds strange. Generally students demand lowering of fees in educational institutions. We have had movements started by students on this issue. One can recall the Navnirman Movement way back in 1973. It started over the issue of an increase in mess fees. What kind of students do we have in IIMs and IITs of today? What is their background? Have they acquired an elitist mindset?

Lower the fees in these institutions. Punish those who are attempting to 'elitise' these public funded institutions. Let there be an all India competition open to all. Ensure that there is no subjective criterion used in the selection process. Ensure that the poorest of poor students who do well on merit get there.

Our educational institutions cannot be hijacked by self-serving bastards. These guys deserve public lynching for taking such a blatant stand. Send them to Jharkhand's Naxalite dominated areas. They will be taught a good lesson. The fact that they dared to do it is most surprising. They want to create a new class system and they are so blatant about it. They have no sense of gratitude and they can sell their souls to anyone. They cannot be trusted. They are already corrupted.

Let the higher education in India be as cheap as it could be. There is nothing wrong in public funding of our universities. The country can afford this. We must do this. There must not be any commercialization of education. Everyone who seeks to be educated should get a chance.

The government must come down heavily on public schools of Delhi who have not kept their promise to admit students from poorer sections. Delhi High Court's orders should be implemented without any delay. If need be, government should take over these schools. The response of the school management to the High Court's order was reprehensible. They openly talked about how it will be difficult for the poor boys and girls to adjust with the wards of the mighty and rich. They were not even sorry for not keeping their promises.

Do not allow the money bags to have a free run in these matters. It will be a big blow to the soul of India. Talent alone should be allowed to thrive.

Vajpayee and Joshi must not forget that but for the inexpensive education they would not be where they are now. They must not allow the elitists to get away with their unholy, immoral, and unjust stand. These elitists too should be wise enough to keep their greed and hunger for power and position under check. This kind of behaviour will lead to their own doom in the final analysis. India is not America. It does not have the kind of vast resources Americans have. We are more than hundred crore people. They must not flaunt their self-serving attitudes too much and so blatantly. It can have disastrous consequences for all. There was this principal of one of the public schools, that have been directed by the Delhi High court to fulfil their obligations, who was talking to the TV guys as if she had come from a different planet. She talked about students from poorer sections in a condescending manner. This was unthinkable till ten years ago. If principals of such schools are so class conscious, you can very well imagine the kind of education kids in these schools get.

We don't need elitist institutions that create a bunch of suave talkers, fixers, lobbyists,  and mercenaries, who have no sense of gratitude and social responsibility.
