OVER 6400 DELEGATES REGISTER FOR 42 IFFI AT GOA

More than 6400 delegates and around 200 Goa Cinephile Members have registered for the 42nd International Film Festival of India, Goa, 2011, till the publication of this news.

This is the highest delegates' registration in the history of the country's premier and most prestigious film festival that runs from 23rd November to 3rd December, 2011, at Panaji, Goa. The festival is programmed and managed by the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF), Government of India, in association with the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) and is entirely funded by the Union and Goa governments. The festival also has a market section called Film Bazaar managed by NFDC, India. The last date for the registration of delegates is 10th November, 2011. One can also register from 11th to 15th November, 2011, by paying a late fees. The registration process can be completed online by logging on to the IFFI website www.iffigoa.org.

About ESG: Established by the Government of Goa in 2004, as the nodal agency in the organization of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), the main objective of the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) is to frame an entertainment policy to help cultivate Goa into a world-class international entertainment nerve center of the country. Successfully hosting the 35th, 36th ,37th, 38th, 39th ,40th and 41st International Film Festival of India to a glare of media and fanfare, the objective of the Entertainment Society of Goa is to work towards building global visibility and branding. Mooted by the Govt of Goa and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Delhi, based on Goa’s world reputation as a tourist destination, with its unique flavour of European lifestyle co-existing with multi-cultural ethnic sensibilities, Goa is now the permanent venue host for the Film Festival.

About IFFI Goa, 2011: Since 1952, India has hosted 41 International Film Festivals, both competitive and non-competitive. These festivals became annual events from 1975 onwards. The Festival is being organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in collaboration with the State Government of Goa and the Indian Film Industry.
